More than 300 students and staff at The Bay CE School ran a mini-marathon to raise money for a local lifeboat charity.
On Friday, October 11, a community day was held by Blue House to support Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
The marathon course included running past landmarks like a homemade Tower Bridge, the Cutty Sark, Buckingham Palace, and The Mall.
Students paid £1 to wear non-uniform clothes, and the Blue House council sold 400 bags of sweets.
The community day was organised by Gareth Bricknell, head of Blue House, who previously ran the London Marathon in 2021. He aimed to motivate students to push their limits and grasp the significance of fundraising.
Mr Bricknell said: "Well done to everyone involved in the community day, it was great to have so many students take part in the mini marathon and to raise money for Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat, a charity in the heart of our local community.
"Days like this really do show what a fantastic community we have here at The Bay."
The winning teams received prizes from local businesses, including Love Running, The Little Isle of Wight Company, TJs Gym, Sandown Soccer, Morrisons, and The Bay Vegan Deli and Coffee House.
The total sum raised was £1,216.44.
