Pop boy band One Direction’s bass player gave Isle of Wight students an insight into the music industry last week.
Sandy Beales, who played bass with the Story of My Life hitmakers between 2011 and 2015, gave a talk at Newport’s Strings Bar and Venue.
He took part in an Inside the Industry conversation, speaking in front of Platform One students.
He was interviewed on stage by Andy Booth, the venue’s co-owner and music industry liaison for Platform One.
Sandy’s career has seen him tour around the world, performing at huge venues including Wembley Stadium and Madison Square Gardens.
He has also worked with JP Cooper and Teenage Dirtbag singers Wheatus.

Sharing photos on Instagram after the event, Platform One said: “What a privilege it was to welcome Sandy Beales.
“Needless to say, we could have listened to him talk for hours.”
They added that some of Sandy’s industry tips would be shared on social media, for those who couldn’t make it to the talk.
Platform One has hosted various Inside the Industry events, with Chris Wood, the drummer from Bastille, featuring earlier this year.
