A new music accessories shop has opened on the Isle of Wight – a hub for young, budding musicians.

Muso Accessories, in Newport’s St Thomas Square, opposite God’s Providence House, opened its doors for the very first time at the weekend.

The shop is run by local bass player Russ Byrne and stocks plectrums, straps, drumheads, capos and a variety of instrument accessories.

Russ told the County Press the aim is to expand, catering for all types of musicians, and even selling instruments in the future.

“I’m trying to create a hub for younger musicians,” said Russ.

“I’ve got a bit of experience I can pass on.

The shop is closely linked to Platform One music college and there will be discounts for students.
