More than 30 birds of prey have a new place to call home at a popular Isle of Wight attraction.

Island company Falconry Experience, together with its 37 birds, have been happily taken in by the existing Falconry Centre at Robin Hill.

It is all thanks to the Downend site’s new owner, Lee Priddle, who came to the rescue during a period of uncertainty for the falconry.

The company, also known as Haven Falconry, was previously based at the Isle of Wight Steam Railway in Havenstreet.

Plans to relocate to Butterfly World in the winter had to be scrapped due to financial reasons, the company revealed last month.

“Lee saw we were struggling to relocate to a suitable location at the end of a long lease,” said director Sam White.

“We were over the moon when he offered us a home at Robin Hill.

Lee said: “We were so pleased to be able to step in and help.

“These guys can now continue to do their great work with these amazing birds, not only providing free daily flying displays for our visitors, but also offering education and promoting conservation throughout the park.”

Charlotte Bell, co-director of the Falconry Experience, said: “Robin Hill is the perfect location for our birds.

“This has been the light at the end of the tunnel after many challenges over the years.

“We cannot wait for the season to start, and we have big plans for three new exciting shows next year, so look out for further announcements!”
