Police enquiries are underway following a car fire on a residential street on Isle of Wight in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, November 10).
The fire service was alerted to reports of a vehicle fire in Ryde just before 2am.
The incident happened on Wood Street, near its junction with Dover Street, where a cordon was put in place.
One fire crew from Ryde attended the scene and, using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet, were able to put out the blaze.
The blue Subaru had been engulfed in flames and suffered significant internal damage.
Hampshire and IW Constabulary were informed about the fire shortly after emergency crews arrived on the scene.
A police spokesperson said the force is carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances of the fire.
