An Isle of Wight man has been arrested on suspicion of drink and drug driving after a late-night crash in Cowes.
Shortly after 2.30am this morning (Sunday, November 10), patrolling officers found a car that had crashed into a hedge and fence on Pallance Road, close to the junction with Nodes Road, in Cowes.
A Volkswagen suffered significant front-end damage in the crash, but a police spokesperson confirmed no injuries were reported.
A 30-year-old man from Freshwater has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs and driving with a proportion of specified controlled drug above the limit.
The man remains in police custody, and enquiries into the circumstances of the collision are ongoing today.
