CRICKETERS of all ages and experience from across the Isle of Wight saw their talents and achievements recognised at a special awards evening hosted by the Isle of Wight Cricket Board.

The awards ceremony was held in the Newclose Cricket Ground pavilion recently.

Accolades were presented to teams and individuals representing clubs around the Island and the county, in junior and adult categories.

Ash Goldsmith, of the Isle of Wight Cricket Board, was encouraged to see a resurgence in youth cricket last season.

"Our county sides at U12s, U14s and U16s joined up with the Hampshire District programme for the first time, and there was plenty of individual and team success throughout the season.

"Also, more than 140 junior club matches were played across the Island.
