A free art exhibition featuring a Mountbatten Isle of Wight patient is set to close soon.

The show, by Island-based artist Clive Redfern Burrows, is dominated by sci-fi themes and includes portraits of actors Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, as well as Batman villain, the Joker.

This coincides with last month’s release of the film Joker: Folie a Deux, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga.

A third of the sale price of some of the paintings, which are for sale, will be donated to Mountbatten Isle of Wight.

Mr Redfern Burrows said: "We’ve got a mixture of paintings at this exhibition. I wanted to show how diverse I was."

"My favourite theme is Star Wars but I don't only do that. There's the tiger, mermaids, the Hindenberg — all sorts."

The exhibition also displays Clive’s comic book character, ‘Weed Whacker Woman’, based on his wife, Dawn.

The exhibition, at the Newport hospice’s art gallery, off Halberry Lane, is free to the public and will only be open for a few more weeks.

You can view the exhibition by entering through the John Cheverton Centre, turning left at the shop, and following the gallery signs.
