A woman was rescued from the sea and airlifted to hospital following an incident on a popular Isle of Wight beach yesterday (Monday, November 4).
Emergency teams were alerted to reports of the concern for the welfare of a woman on Shanklin Esplanade shortly after 4pm.
HM Coastguard and lifeboat crews, alongside teams from the IW Ambulance Service and Hampshire and IW Constabulary, were sent to the scene.
