The popular Day of Christmas 2024 event will make a triumphant return on the Isle of Wight today (Saturday, November 16).

The annual celebration, which was cancelled last year due to poor weather, promises a full day of holiday cheer in Newport.

Between 11am and 6pm, the festive lineup at St James’ and St Thomas’ Square includes fairground rides, living statues and special appearances by characters from Enchanted Isle.

Live entertainment will fill today with performances from Maurice Kachuk, Huxley Magic, The Jimi and Anne Duet Show, Vectis Brass Band, The Starlight Academy and singer Emelia.

Open from midday to 5pm, collectors can expect thousands of items spanning Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, sports cards and other popular collectables.

Newport Minster will provide additional holiday spirit by holding an indoor Christmas market, filled with seasonal gifts and treats.

Among the main attractions is the popular indoor ice rink found inside Town Lane’s Parish Centre.

Although entry is free, immense demand has already seen the rink fully booked.
