An independently-owned Isle of Wight bedroom furniture retailer has announced when it will be moving into its new town centre premises.

Solent Beds and Furniture is in the process of relocating to the former Poundstretcher and Courts Furniture Store building on Newport High Street.

For the last ten years, the retailer has been based from a shop at Savoy Court, Town Lane, Newport.

It also has a building at Riverway, Newport and a flagship superstore in Lake, which opened in April 2006.

Leases on both current Newport shops are due to expire later this year.

The firm is closing both and merging them into one, bigger site at the former Poundstretcher, which has sat empty for a number of years.

Located at 95 High Street, the new store will offer a huge range of quality furniture and sofas from many big-name brands including G Plan, La-Z-Boy and Parker Knoll.

The store will also feature a large Signature Bed Gallery on the first floor displaying an exceptional collection of beds, mattresses and bedroom furniture.

The new shop opens on Monday, November 11. The official ribbon cutting ceremony takes place from 10am.

The public are invited to attend and explore the showrooms.
