A chance meeting with a famous actor led Bembridge Little Theatre Club to find its next play.
Director Diane Aspinall was on a cruise when she met actor and writer Simon Williams, best known for Upstairs Downstairs and Dinnerladies.
They soon got talking about the theatre and his play Laying the Ghost.
He said he would be delighted for BLTC to perform it and that started the audition process.
Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/isle-of-wight/bembridge-village-hall/laying-the-ghost or by phoning 07841 950261
The cast includes Maria Wilkinson, Fiona Gwinnett, Jane Robert, Ralph Edermaniger, Julie Wilson and Ronnie Edermaniger.
This fast moving comedy is set in Yew Tree House, a retirement home for a group of eccentric, charming and “growing old outrageously” theatricals.
These include ex-actress Margot Buchanan and her psychic friend Freda.
Margot is less than pleased when she receives three birthday visitors: her ex-husband Sir Leo Buchanan, a well-known actor and philanderer; his second wife and his current mistress.
Find out what happens, at Bembridge Village Hall, from Thursday, November 28, to Sunday, December 1.
