ISLE of Wight police discovered an axe in the car of a suspected drug driver following a callout to a Tesco Express yesterday evening (Friday).
At around 6.40pm, officers stopped a motorist outside the Tesco Express on Wootton High Street.
A 42-year-old man, from East Cowes, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving and having no insurance.
Police also found an axe in the car, and the man was further arrested for possession of an offensive weapon.
He has been bailed until February 1, said a spokesperson for the force.
