The owner of a popular Isle of Wight attraction has apologised after severe traffic problems at a Halloween event.
Robin Hill hosted a Halloween party event organised by After Dark Events last night (Thursday October 31).
Visitors experienced delays of around an hour last night around the site and Southern Vectis' Route 8 bus services were diverted.
The country park owner Lee Priddle has apologised to visitors and said the park will be "fully involved in the decision making, organisation and management of all future events at Robin Hill."
The Robin Hill statement reads: "Events company, After Dark, hosted a Halloween Event at Robin Hill Country Park on Thursday, 31 October with over 3,000 or more guests.
"This was an external event, and Robin Hill was not involved with ticket sales or with the organisation and management of the evening.
"Having been made aware of the severe traffic problems surrounding this event, the Robin Hill Partnership would like to extend their sincere apologies to all visitors who experienced long delays in getting into the park and to those whose journeys home were affected by the additional traffic."
Lee Priddle, CEO, added: “We will be fully involved in the decision-making, organisation and management of all future events at Robin Hill and effective traffic management is obviously a crucial part of that planning.
"We are thrilled to have lots of exciting new attractions for 2025 and so many plans in progress, which we can’t wait to share with everyone next year.
"Robin Hill has employed from tomorrow the previous operation manager, who is now promoted to Park manager and will be taking the lead on all future events at Robin Hill.
"We would also like to thank After Dark Events for putting on a very good show as they put their heart and soul into their first event for the people that did attend.
"There certainly were lots of happy families that stayed right to the end of the night."
Some families spent so long in traffic, they missed the event and are seeking refunds.
The County Press contacted After Dark for a statement.
After Dark said anyone enquiring about refunds should contact ticket selling website The Price is Wight.
They declined to comment further.
