Two people on the Isle of Wight were rescued by coastguard services after being stuck in mud.
Coastguard services were called out to Folly Lane in East Cowes yesterday (Wednesday October 30) to reports of two people stuck in mud on the banks of the River Medina.
The HM Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team reported that both people were extracted from the mud and were passed into the care of ambulance services.
HM Bembridge Coastguard Rescue Team said: "Mud can be incredibly dangerous as once you’re stuck it’s difficult to get out without trained rescuers.
"As well as the danger of sinking, there’s also a risk of drowning because of the rising water levels and tide.
"If you do get trapped sit back to spread your weight evenly across the surface, then call 999 and ask for the coastguard."
