An arts charity has opened its first retrospective art sale.

Independent Arts, based in Newport on the Isle of Wight, launched the event at its Creative Hub on Newport High Street with a private viewing.

The exhibition includes a wide range of artwork from the charity's workshops, aiming to reduce social isolation and improve wellbeing through the arts.

The pieces, which come from projects involving the community, including youth groups and local school children, were curated by programme manager Kerry Tindall and principal project artist Jo Rigby.

Kerry said: "Whilst all our exhibitions at the Creative Hub showcase our participants work, this is the first time we have put some of that work on sale to raise funds to keep running sessions such as these and we are really proud of the high-quality work available to purchase, all to support our work in the future."

The Autumn Retrospective art sale is available for public viewing until November 25, with prices ranging from £15 to £100 for professionally framed A3 pieces.

Funds raised will support Independent Arts' ongoing projects, which help over 500 island residents weekly in the community and in care homes, offering activities such as arts workshops, singing, movement, and mindfulness.
