A teenager remains in custody after grabbing an Isle of Wight police officer around the neck from behind.
A 17-year-old male from Leeds and a 50-year-old man were arrested this morning (Tuesday October 29) in Whitwell.
Police stopped a white Tesla and a brown Mini at 11.30am after the two vehicles contravened no-entry signs on Whitwell High Street, at the junction with Bannock Road.
Officers attended the area following complaints from members of the public that some motorists were ignoring the no-entry signs on Whitwell High Street.
The driver of the Tesla, a 50-year-old man from Leeds, became aggressive towards officers, refused to provide details and tried to drive away.

The man was arrested on suspicion of failing to provide details and contravening a no-entry sign.
He has since been released under investigation.
While the 50-year-old man was being arrested, the passenger of the brown Mini grabbed an officer around the neck from behind, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has said.
A woman in her 70s also suffered a minor leg injury at the scene in the commotion caused by the assault.
A 17-year-old male from Leeds was arrested on suspicion of assaulting police.
He remains in custody.
