The Isle of Wight Festival and Isle of Wight music venue Strings have been shortlisted for national awards.

The Isle of Wight Festival has been nominated for Major Festival of the Year at the 2024 LIVE Awards, while Strings Bar and Venue in Newport is up for the Grassroots Champion award.

The festival, which was headlined by Green Day, The Prodigy and Pet Shop Boys, is up against Victorious Festival, Latitude Festival, Kendal Calling and Reading and Leeds Festival.

Strings Bar and Venue has been shortlisted alongside seven other grassroots venues in the UK.

The ceremony will take place on Wednesday December 11 at Troxy in London.

The Isle of Wight Festival 2025 has announced its first wave of acts.

Sting, Stereophonics and Justin Timberlake will all take to the stage at Seaclose Park between June 19 and 22 next year.

Faithless, The Script, Teddy Swims, Clean Bandit, Example, James, Paul Heaton, Texas, Olly Murs, Alison Moyet, Dean Lewis, The Lathums, and Lottery Winners are also joining the bill.

Festival promoter, John Giddings, said: "What a line-up we have in store already for the next edition of The Isle of Wight Festival.

"Everyone should get to the Island for an unforgettable weekend of music."
