WHEN you are out and about around the Isle of Wight this coming week, be sure to know which roadworks to avoid.

Here is a list of some of the roadworks and associated closures:

SHANKLIN: East Mead will close during iron works, along its entire length, over over one shift, sometime between Monday and Wednesday.

LAKE: Golf Links Road will shut during drainage works, between the junctions of Sandown and Shanklin bridleway 46 and Station Approach, over one shift, sometime between Monday and Wednesday.

FRESHWATER: Gate Lane will close during carriageway repair works, between the junctions of Bay Road and Coastguard Lane, over one shift, sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

RYDE: George Street will shut during carriageway repair works, between the junctions of Anglesea Street and Star Street, over one shift, sometime between Tuesday and Thursday.

NEWPORT: Holyrood Street will close during kerb repair works, between the junctions of High Street and Lugley Street, over one shift, sometime between Wednesday and Friday, November 1.

Also, Bowcombe Farm Lane will close during excavation and investigation  works, along its entire length, over one shift, sometime between Wednesday and Friday, November 1.

And Whitcombe Road will close during utility works, between the junctions of Castle Hill and Nunnery Lane, between 8.30am on Monday and 4.30pm on Thursday, then between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Friday, November 1. 

SANDOWN: Melville Street will shut during tree programme works, between the junctions of Royal Street and Fitzroy Street, over two shifts, sometime between Wednesday and Thursday.

NORTHWOOD: Cranleigh Path will close during utility works, between the junctions of Wyatts Lane and Cranleigh Gardens, between 7am on Wednesday and 5pm on Thursday.

BINSTEAD: King's Road will shut during carriageway repair works, between the junctions of Newnham Road and Kings Path, over one shift, sometime between Wednesday and Friday.

COWES: Castle Road will close during utility works, between the junctions of Castle Hill and Bars Hill, between 9am on Tuesday and 6pm on Thursday.

WROXALL: Clarence Road will shut during utility works, between the junctions of Mountfield Road and High Street, between 7pm on Tuesday and 6.30am on Wednesday.

NITON: New Road will close during utility works, between the junctions of Laceys Lane and Rectory Road, between 8am on Monday and 4pm on Wednesday.

Also, Newport Road will close durong utility works, between the junctions of Kingates Lane and Southford Lane, between 8am on Thursday and 4pm on Tuesday, November 5.

GURNARD: Rew Street will shut during utility works, between the junctions of Westview Road and Pallance Road, between 9.30am and 3.30pm on Wednesday.
