A young Isle of Wight singer has been selected to perform as soloist with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in a Christmas classic.
Will Kent, 13, from Sandown, will join Logan Broom from Ringwood and Megan Frost-Howe from Newton Abbot for the festive performance of Howard Blake’s Walking in the Air on December 14.
The trio was chosen from a pool of 70 children aged 9-13 years, showcasing their exceptional talent to win this opportunity.
Anthony Brown, the BSO’s head of marketing and curator of its BSO Pops series, said: "We were thrilled to welcome such a large number of young singers from across the South West and beyond to audition. Logan, Megan, and Will stood out as brilliantly talented - we’re excited to be able to offer them this memorable performance experience and look forward to welcoming them to the stage in December."
The performance, which will be conducted by Pete Harrison, will be held at Lighthouse, Poole at 3pm and 7pm and will accompany a full-length screening of The Snowman.
This event forms part of the BSO's festive season, which features a variety of traditional Christmas favourites. Tickets for the performance are available from £5 and can be purchased at bsolive.com.
