An Isle of Wight driver has been arrested after reports of a van being driven dangerously and damaging street furniture.
Hampshire and IW Constabulary received multiple calls on Monday morning with reports that a van was swerving all over the road.
It is also said that the vehicle drove on pavements and caused damage to roadside furniture.
A police officer found the blue van in Halfords car park in Newport's Town Gate Retail Park.
The driver informed police they had "taken something" at the weekend, with a roadside DrugWipe showing positive for cocaine, police said.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while over the prescribed cocaine limit.
A spokesperson for the force said: "Don't drive if you're not safe to do so.
"It's not complicated. Unless you want to risk your own, or someone else's, life, it's just plain reckless."
The driver was taken into custody at Newport Police Station.
