AN ISLE of Wight woman who lost control of her Audi and crashed into another vehicle has been sentenced.

The case of Carlene Fryer, of The Hollows, Newport, was heard before Aldershot magistrates on Monday, October 14.

The 51-year-old admitted driving on a road/public place without due care and attention, in Carisbrooke, on March 29.

A charge of failing to give information relating to the identification of a driver was withdrawn.

The court heard Fryer drove at speed along a residential road, namely Priory Road, lost control of her car, collided with another vehicle and failed to stop.

Fryer was fined £333 and her driving record was endorsed with six penalty points.

She was ordered to pay costs of £110 and a £133 surcharge.
