An art exhibition showcasing work by young creatives has opened.
The Isle of Wight Young Artist Award 2024 exhibition is open at Clayden Gallery, Quay Arts in Newport, showcasing work by people aged between 14 and 25.
The exhibition will run until Sunday, November 3, between 9am and 5pm.
The winner, 19-year-old Elsie Calder, was recognised for her mixed media piece exploring gender ideologies.
Her work was selected by the Brave Island Quay Arts team.
Elsie said: "I entered the Young Artist Award as an opportunity to showcase my work, something I am deeply passionate about, to my local community on a scale I never have before.
"As a young person on the Island, pursuing art can often feel challenging in comparison to city networks, making an opportunity like this especially hard to pass on."
This is the third Young Artist Award exhibition, started by Brave Island in 2022, to offer young people the opportunity to display their work in a professional gallery.
