Storm surges are expected on the Isle of Wight tomorrow (Sunday October 20).

The IW Met Service has put out a warning today (Saturday October 19) as moderate flooding is expected in some Island coastal areas.

The IW Met Service has said that flooding may impact Wightlink's ferry terminal in Yarmouth, as well as Cowes and East Cowes seafronts.

The surge is expected to peak between 8am and 10am, with 35 miles per hour average wind speeds gusting to 45 miles per hour.

Wind speeds are expected to peak between 10am and 12pm, and storm surges are due to hold at a peak of 0.4 metres, and 0.6 metres in parts of the Solent.

The IW Met Service have said that flooding should subside after this, and storm surges should be over by 4pm.
