Hovertravel has offered Great South Run participants and supporters refunds after the event was cancelled today (Saturday October 19).

Those affected can switch their travel to a different date or claim a full refund by emailing info@hovertravel.com.

No refunds will be available in the terminals.

The Great South Run was due to take place tomorrow (Sunday October 20) but was cancelled today after forecasted extreme weather.

Organisers cited forecasted high winds and rain, potential debris and high tide levels as reasons for pulling the plug on the 10 mile race.

In a statement, organisers said: "We will be in touch with all participants next week with more details about how you can roll your entry over into next year's event, or claim a refund in line with our terms and conditions.

"Next year's Great South Run (10 miles) is scheduled to take place on Sunday 19 October 2025.
