Halloween is nearly upon us, and many Isle of Wight attractions have special events lined up.

Whether you fancy a haunted trip on a steam train, or pumpkin-picking for your decorations, there's something for everyone on the Island this October.

Robin Hill

Robin Hill is hosting an After Dark Halloween Spooktacular kids' party on Thursday October 31, featuring live entertainment, trick or treating, and a fancy dress competition.

Advance tickets are available now for the event, which runs from 4pm to 10pm.

The Museum of Ryde

The Museum of Ryde will host a special Halloween exhibition and treasure hunt.

The volunteer-run museum in Royal Victoria Arcade will run the event until October 31 from 10.30am to 4pm on Tuesday through to Saturday.

The event will include Ryde ghost stories, spooky decorations and kids colouring.

Adult entry costs £5, while eight to 16 year old entry costs £1. Under eight's go free.

Carisbrooke Castle

Carisbrooke Castle will host Halloween Half Term until Sunday, November 3.

Visitors will have the opportunity to follow Victorian mediums on ghost walks and take part in a Halloween quest.

Pumpkin picking

Those looking for the perfect pumpkin are spoilt for choice, as both Tapnell Farm and Westover Farm have opened their patches to the public.

Tapnell Farm's patch is open until October 31.

Guests pay only for their pumpkins and any refreshments.

Westover Farm's patch is open from October 24 to October 27.

The prices of pumpkins vary.

Blackgang Chine

Experience Blackgang Chine by night as they swap pumpkins for inflatable skulls at the Fiesta of the Dead event.

The event runs on October 25, 26 and 29, 30 and 31, promising fire shows, roaming characters and paella.

Tapnell Farm

Tapnell Farm also has a Pumpkin Festival Night Out on Monday October 28 with live music, pumpkin carving, and amusements.

Hot food will be provided by Harbour Kitchen, Cowes, and spooky treats courtesy of Richmond's Bakery.

Isle of Wight Steam Railway

The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is holding Wizard Week from Saturday October 26 to Saturday November 1.

Decorated steam trains will run every day during the event as well as entertainment provided by spooky storyteller Greg Chapman and friendly wizard Professor Crump.

Shanklin Chine

Shanklin Chine has been holding its month-long Halloween Spooktacular, where the Chine has been transformed into a haunted trail.

Visitors can enjoy themed activities and live music on weekends, and fancy dress is strongly encouraged.

The event runs until November 2.

Arreton Barns

Arreton Barns will hold a Halloween pumpkin hunt from October 19 to November 2.

Pumpkin stakes are hidden around the Barns, all with letters. Collect the letters and solve the anagram to be entered into a "delightfully devilish prize draw".

The hunt is suitable for everyone, with booking in advance not required.
