A POPULAR annual event on the Isle of Wight established in 1956 — the MacNaughton Howe Arts and Crafts Festival — takes place in Ventnor today (Friday, October 18) and tomorrow (Saturday).

The festival, as it was last year, is being staged at St Catherines Church.

The aim of the festival has always been to keep arts and crafts alive in Ventnor.

Visitors can admire the entries, as well as buy items from the wide variety of stallholders.
