A popular family-fun firework event on the Isle of Wight, in aid of charity, returns next month - at a new location.

Robin Hill is playing host to Fireworks with Mountbatten on November 9.

Supported by the Isle of Wight Festival and IW Radio, the event promises a dazzling firework display for all ages.

"Fabulous fireworks, a dazzling fire show, live entertainment and our exciting fundraising challenge, ZipFire, will all be there", Mountbatten said.

"We invite you to come dressed as sparkly as possible and armed with your glow-in-the-dark accessories, but don't forget your scarf and gloves!"

There will also be food and drink for sale, from a variety of stalls.

Fireworks with Mountbatten will be hosted by Paul Topping and the IW Radio breakfast team.

Paul said: "It’s going to be a night full of fun for all the family. We can’t wait to see you all there.”

Throughout the night, above our heads, there will be a thrilling 150-metre zip line. Over 60 pre-booked fundraisers will soar across the sky as part of Zipfire, which is sponsored by Wight Fire and Security.

This sold-out challenge looks set to be exhilarating (there will soon be the chance to register your interest for a future event).

Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings said: “We sold out in just 90 minutes last year, so people will have to be quick if they want to join us!

“We’re really excited to be teaming up once again, in aid of this wonderful cause.

"It’s going to be another great night.”

How to get your tickets to Fireworks with Mountbatten

Bad weather twice cancelled last year's event at North Fairlee Farm, off Fairlee Road.

Lee Priddle, CEO of the event's new venue, Robin Hill, said: "We are thrilled to be able to provide the venue for such a great cause and look forward to seeing you all, at what promises to be a brilliant night!"

Mountbatten CEO, Nigel Hartley, MBE, said: "Every ticket sold will help us continue to make a difference to Islanders in need of specialist palliative and end-of-life care and support, which Mountbatten delivers 24/7 in patients’ homes and in our hospice in Newport, alongside services including bereavement support.

"We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you!”
