A man in his 20s has died following an incident at a popular Isle of Wight holiday park, police have confirmed today (Sunday, October 13).
Hampshire and IW Constabulary were called at 9.22am on Saturday (October 12) following concern for the welfare of an occupant at Thorness Bay Holiday Park.
Police teams and paramedics were quickly at the scene, where a 29-year-old man was pronounced dead.
A police spokesperson said the man's next kin have been informed.
The death is deemed as an 'unexpected death' and remains under investigation by police on behalf of the IW Coroner.
As previously reported by the County Press, a witness reported seeing multiple ambulance teams alongside police crews and armed officers.
Police said no armed officers were sent to the holiday park.
A spokesperson for Thorness Bay Holiday Park said: “We are working to support police with their investigations after an isolated incident.
“As those investigations are ongoing, we can’t comment further.”
Parkdean Resorts, which runs the Thorness, confirmed that the park is open as usual.
