AN ISLE of Wight man accused of punching a member of the public in the face and assaulting a police officer will stand trial next year.
Lee Richie, of Sunset Close, Freshwater, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, October 8.
The 31-year-old denied two counts of assault by beating, one against an emergency worker, in Freshwater, on August 6.
He is accused of punching a member of the public in the face and kicking the arm of a police officer.
Mr Richie saw his case adjourned for a trial at the Isle of Wight Magistrates’ Court on May 28.
He was granted conditional bail.
