A popular Isle of Wight food events company is launching a new ‘pay what you want’ event in Cowes next month.

Diners will be able to enjoy an evening of culinary delights without a fixed price tag at Eat Street Table at Medina Court on November 1.

Instead, guests will decide how much they wish to pay for their meal, offering a fresh take on dining that prioritises customer satisfaction.

The event’s premise is simple. Diners can enjoy a variety of dishes, and when the evening comes to a close, they can choose how much they wish to pay for the food.

Alex and Laurel, the owners of Eat Street, explained the inspiration behind the event.

They said: “Ever had a meal and been disappointed or felt like you didn't get value for money?

“Or maybe you thought it was so good that the restaurant should definitely be charging more?

“We thought we would let you decide!”

Following next month’s event, a Saturday evening in December and a Sunday brunch in January are also planned.

The surprise menu will consist of seven to ten small plates, showcasing a variety of cuisines from around the world or focusing on specific themes such as Indian brunch or East Asian night.

Eat Street aims to bring creativity to the table by exploring dishes not usually available at their regular events.

Alex and Laurel continued: “We know we have a fantastic and unique concept in our table, but normally you have to book the whole table for £400.

“We realise that this may be out of reach for some of our customers.

“Pay what you want allows everyone to experience this unique dining concept without being tied to pay more than they personally feel it's worth.”

Guests will arrive at 6.30pm for food service at 7pm, with the event expected to conclude by 10pm.
