An annual tennis tournament raised thousands of pounds for an Isle of Wight charity.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight hosted the West Wight Tennis Tournament, raising £3,184,48 for the charity that provides end-of-life care and bereavement support.
Matches were played across the West Wight area and the final took place at Westover House in Calbourne, provided by Caroline Weeks.
Mark Grzegorczyk and Jan White won the final, beating worthy opponents Peter Burger and Susan Scoccia.
Mountbatten CEO Nigel Hartley attended the event and spoke about the charity's 24/7 care for patients in their homes and at Mountbatten's hospice in Newport.
The tournament was organised by Chris Goodman and David Robinson, who thanked supporters, court owners and generous sponsors.
Mountbatten Isle of Wight has also raised money by providing sponsored wing walking.
The charity raised over £80,000 providing the opportunity for those who dared at Sandown Airport.
The wing walking challenge saw around 60 people strapped to the top of a red biplane, over two weeks in August at Sandown Airport.
Consultant nurse and wing-walker Jackie Whiller, said: “It was absolutely amazing — the best thing I’ve ever done.
“Mountbatten’s really important to me and I will do anything I can to keep us going and to raise as much money as possible.”
