A man in his 40s was arrested following an incident involving four males on an Isle of Wight road yesterday evening (Monday, October 7).
Hampshire and IW Constabulary were called to St John's Road in Newport at around 6.20pm following reports of an 'altercation' between four males.
It was reported one of the males had used a bag to hit one of the other males.
A 41-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of assault.
A police spokesperson said the man was released on bail until January 8, pending further enquiries.
