AN ISLE of Wight motorist in his 70s must pay more than £500 in court fees after being caught speeding on the mainland.
The case of John Whelan, of Seagrove Bay, Seaview, was heard before Worcester magistrates on Wednesday, September 18.
The 71-year-old admitted exceeding a 50mph speed restriction on a motorway, namely the M5, on June 13 of this year.
Whelan was fined £423, and his driving record was endorsed with three penalty points.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £110.
