A new play, described as "a comedy in thick fog," is set to premiere at Newport's Apollo Theatre.
Sheila's Island, by Tim Firth, will open on October 25 and run until November 2, excluding Sunday and Monday.
The play is set on Bonfire Night 2019 and follows four middle-aged businesswomen who become the first people to get shipwrecked on an island in the Lake District during their annual team-building weekend.
The situation quickly escalates from a simple bonding exercise to a chaotic fight for survival, with the women navigating fog, wildlife, and isolation.
The plot, which includes elements of French cricket and sausages, promises a unique take on survival stories.
The play is a companion piece to Firth's 1994 play Neville's Island, which featured an all-male cast. Firth wrote Sheila's Island almost 30 years later, reflecting the changes and constants in the corporate world.
The play has been compared to The Office, Lord of the Flies, and Miranda.
The Apollo Theatre encourages theatre-goers to book tickets online at apollo-theatre.org.uk or by calling the box office on 01983 210010.
The Apollo Theatre, Newport, is known for its diverse range of productions, and Sheila's Island is expected to attract a broad audience.
Theatre enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the play's premiere, with many looking forward to seeing how Firth's unique blend of humour and drama unfolds on stage.
