A MAN arrested on the Isle of Wight last week, suspected of ‘thrusting his hips’ in the direction of a three-year-old girl and asking her if she wanted “to get some sweets”, has been bailed.
At around 8.30am on Friday, September 27, police were alerted to reports of an incident on School Green Road/Avenue Road in Freshwater.
It is said that a man in his 60s approached another man, walking with his three-year-old daughter, and asked the girl if she wanted to 'go with him to get some sweets'.
In addition to the comments, the man allegedly 'thrust his hips' in the direction of the man and his daughter, said police.

The incident was reported to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary and officers arrested a man on suspicion of attempting to take a child so as to remove them from a person having lawful control.
The 61-year-old man was taken into custody and has since been bailed with conditions until December 27 while a police investigation is ongoing.
“We know this incident, and incidents of this nature, can cause alarm to the local community,” said a spokesperson for the force.
“Officers have been conducting patrols in the Freshwater area following this incident and will continue to do so.
“We encourage anyone with concerns, or who has experienced this type of behaviour, to contact police on 101.”
