A POPULAR pioneer of trance music - Chicane - is heading to an Isle of Wight music venue next year.
Strings Bar and Venue, in Newport, says it is thrilled to host “one of the seminal originators of trance” on Saturday, February 1.
Chicane is known for crafting some of the most iconic sounds of the genre, and the show will offer a unique chance to experience the magic of his timeless tracks.
A spokesperson for the venue said: “We are so thrilled Chicane has agreed to perform for us here on the Island.
“It is going to be an incredible occasion, and different from other events we often programme.
“It proves that even the most successful of artists appreciate the work we do as an independent venue."

With Offshore, the Isle of Wight venue says Chicane redefined the sound of dance music, creating an atmosphere of serenity that became synonymous with the sunsets of Ibiza.
Following this, Saltwater soared to the UK top five, solidifying his place as a master of electronic cool.
His ground-breaking collaboration with Bryan Adams on Don’t Give Up, from the chart-topping album Behind the Sun, marked one of the first dance music tracks to achieve mainstream global success – a true dancefloor classic.
The event is expected to sell out quickly and is an 18+ show.
ID will be required, and anyone keen to secure a place should book on the String’s Bar and Venue website.
