A FURTHER weather warning for heavy rain across the Isle of Wight has been issued by the national Met Office.
The yellow warning for rain is in force until 11.59pm today (Monday, September 23), following heavy rain battering the Island during the early hours.
The Met Office warned of the potential 30-50mm of rain could develop in any part of the warning area, much of which could fall within a period of six hours or less, and that some locations could see 80-100mm over the course of 12 to 24 hours.
The Isle of Wight Met Service, however, has not issued a warning, forecasting a lot of cloud with occasional showers, followed by some more persistent and, sometimes, heavy rain this afternoon and especially into the evening.
