An Isle of Wight woman, attending court via videocall from prison, has been charged with theft from Sainsbury's.
Maddy Allen-Willsher, 20, attended the IW Magistrates’ Court via videolink from HMP Winchester on Friday, September 20.
Ms Allen-Willsher faces charges of theft from a shop and failing to comply with a community protection notice.
It is alleged that on July 31, Ms Allen-Willsher stole a candle holder, salmon and a bottle of wine of a value of £30 at Sainsbury's in Newport – and, in the process, breached a community protection notice.
She did not enter a plea for the alleged offences.
Oscar Vincent, defending, said due to various reasons accepted by the court, he has been unable to discuss essential information with his client ahead of the hearing.
Magistrates adjourned the case until October 8.
