TWO new football centres are set to open, aiming to boost the women's and girls' game on the Isle of Wight.
Run by JC Coaching, in partnership with the Football Association, the centres will be based in Ventnor.
The first, an FA Wildcats futsal centre, caters for girls aged five to 11 years and of all skills abilities.
Futsal, a football variant played on a hard surface, promotes skill development by keeping the ball on the ground.
The centre will operate indoors, ensuring sessions can continue in all weathers, especially throughout the winter months.
Sessions will run every Monday, from 6.30pm to 7.30pm, at the Rew Valley Sports Hall, starting from Monday, September 30.
The second facility, an FA Ladies Just Play Centre, is designed for women of all experience levels.
Whether new to the game, returning after a break, or looking for casual play without team commitments, all are welcome.
The focus will be on fun and fitness in an all-female environment.
Sessions will take place on Wednesday evenings, from 6pm to 7pm, at Ventnor Football Club, beginning on October 2.
Both initiatives aim to make the sport more accessible and, are part of a wider effort to grow the women's and girls' game.
