Rents are set by government and, over recent years, haven’t risen above one per cent a year.

Renters are not allowed to spend more than 30 per cent of their monthly income on rent, which ensures they have sufficient money left over for food and other things.
Given the out-of-control, exploitative housing market in the UK, might this not be a model we as a country ought to be moving towards?
