An Isle of Wight police station will reopen to the public from next month for three days a week.
Ryde Police Station, which shut its doors to the public in 2014, will be officially opened on October 25 by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police and Crime Commissioner, Donna Jones.
PCC Jones referred to the reopening in an interview with the County Press in September 2023.
The police base on Station Street will have a new front desk and will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30am to 3pm, and Saturdays from 9am to 2.30pm.
Newport Police Station remains open every day, and Cowes Police Station reopened in January 2024 for drop-ins and pre-arranged appointments.
PCC Donna Jones said: “I am delighted the public will be able to access Ryde police station once more.
“Ryde police station closed to the public in 2014.
"Whilst police officers and staff have continued to work in the building and in the community, the public were not able to visit for routine inquiries or services.
"A decade later, I’m delighted to reopen the station and declare Hampshire and Isle Wight Constabulary open for business.
“The opening ceremony of Ryde police station will be held on 25 October and I’d be delighted for the local community to come along and celebrate.”
