A young Isle of Wight drug user whose bedroom was raided by police told officers he smoked a staggering 15 joints a day.
Lennon Lowman, of Staplers Road, Newport, appeared before Isle of Wight magistrates on Tuesday, September 17.
The 19-year-old admitted possession of cannabis, in Newport, on August 17.
Prosecutor, Liz Miller, said police were called to Lowman’s home address and a strong smell of cannabis was noted in his bedroom.
She said officers found several vacuum-sealed packets containing cannabis, as well as drug-related paraphernalia, and Lowman told them the cannabis was all his and he smoked 15 joints a day.
Michael McGoldrick, defending, said Lowman had been using cannabis for a while, and in the days leading up to the incident, it was impacting on his health, causing him to have panic attacks.
He said he was now making changes to his lifestyle and had stopped smoking.
Lowman was fined £120 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £48 surcharge.
