The Isle of Wight Writers' Day was hailed a success by organisers and attendees.
Held at Carisbrooke Priory last Saturday, a full house meant a very busy day for organisers Felicity Fair Thompson, Andrew Bradstock and Rosie Deedes.
The day covered writing fiction for books and magazines, using poetry and prose in prisons, creating poetry ideas and reading out work, writing for stage and film, biography research and memoirs, and children’s stories.
It culminated in a wide discussion on selling stories, copyright, AI, getting published, editing and proof reading, and self-publishing.
Experts included Peter Harrigan of Medina Publishing and Jean G-Owen of Naked Figleaf Press.
Successful authors gave advice, and displayed the books they had written.
A spokesperson for the event said: "It was a splendid day. Thank you to everyone who took part and made the day so special."
