THIS year's Isle of Wight Dog Festival has been shelved until next spring.
The event was due to be held at the Isle of Wight County Showground, Northwood, this coming weekend (September 14-15).
In a statement from the festival's organisers, posted on its website, they said: "We regret to inform you we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Isle of Wight Dog Festival.
"The new dates for the festival are May 24 and 25, 2025.
"Unfortunately, we have lost key content and have been unable to secure some of the essential demonstrations, people, and facilities that would have made this year’s festival as exciting and valuable as we had planned.
"Rather than host an event that falls short of our visitors’ expectations, we feel it’s in everyone’s best interest to delay, until we can provide the full experience you deserve.
"The good news is we’ve secured the same venue for May 2025. This extra time will allow us to deliver a pawsitively unrivalled dog festival for all dog owners and lovers, across the Isle of Wight."
For those who have already purchased tickets, they will remain valid for the new dates.
Organisers say they will be in touch with all ticket holders, via email, to ensure they are aware of their options, which will include a full refund if unable to attend the new dates.
