All the male members of the bridegroom’s family and friends wore tartan for a wedding at Ventnor Botanic Garden.
Megan Ryan, of Freshwater Bay, married her Scottish fiancé Patrick Fraser, on August 31.
The couple met in February 2019 in London, where they were both working.
Megan was keen to get married on the Island, where her parents live.
The wedding had a strong Scottish theme. The happy couple were ‘piped in’ to the reception by the bagpipes and after the speeches and meal there was a traditional ceilidh to dance the night away.
After the wedding, they went on a ‘mini-moon’ to the New Forest, and are planning a proper honeymoon to South Africa next year.
They are now living in St Albans, and both work in London. Megan is an insurance underwriter and Patrick is a civil servant.
Both are very sporty. Megan played football for Arsenal Academy before transferring to Reading to play in the WSL.
Patrick was training with the Scotland Touch Rugby team, aiming for the Touch Rugby World Cup, but damaged his ankle in May. He is recovering after surgery but the bride did insist he take off the protective boot for the formal wedding photos.
