Prizes have been given out to the winners of an Island garden competition.

Shanklin in Bloom held a prize presentation at the British Legion Hall in Shanklin on September 3.

The prizes, handed out by the Mayor of Shanklin Sara Sheath, were for local gardens judged in July.

Winner of the pubs, shops and cafes category was The Old Thatched Teashop, with the front gardens category being scooped up by the Garden House on Westhill Road.

The wildlife friendly prize went to Rylstone Tea Gardens and Crazy Golf, the pots and hanging baskets accolade was award to 2 Victoria Avenue, and the community gardens prize was won by Green Towns.
