A MAN accused of a sexual communication offence involving a child on WhatsApp and Snapchat more than two years ago, is to appear before an Isle of Wight Crown Court judge later this month.
Mark James Russell, of Queens Road, Newport, faced a charge of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child, aged under 16 years, on May 9, 2022, when he appeared at the Isle of Wight Magistrates' Court on Tuesday (September 3).
No plea was entered.
The 55-year-old was bailed to reappear for a plea and trial preparation hearing, at the Isle of Wight Crown Court, on September 17.
