A Jay Miller's Circus superfan who dresses as "mini Peppi" has handed over the reins to a younger fan.

Freddy Cooke, from East Cowes, has been visiting the circus for eight years, dressed as resident Peppi the Clown, and has featured in the County Press before.

The Miller family and circus performers got to know Freddy, affectionately naming him Mini Peppi and inviting him to take part in the show.

Now he is nearly a teenager, Freddy retired as Mini Peppi on August 30, handing over the reins to four year old Ollie Crates, in what will be big shoes to fill.

Meanwhile, Jay Miller's Circus has packed down for another year, promising to return to the Island next year with a brand new production.

In a statement on their Facebook page, they said: "You really have blown us away this summer with amount of love, kindness and continued support.
