More than 500 people flocked to an event aimed at aiding older Isle of Wight residents to live better at home.

The Older Person’s Good Living Show was held on August 17 at Sandown Airport and attracted praise from the Isle of Wight High Sheriff Graham Biss.

Right at Home Isle of Wight organised the "brilliant" event, featuring over 40 services who shared information on senior citizens living safely and independently.

The services on show came from Age UK IW, Alzheimer Café IW, Grace’s Bakery, South Wight Neighbourhood Police, Hurst, and Wiltshire Farm Foods, among others.

Mr Biss met Right at Home Isle of Wight owners, Vicky and Paul Butler.

Vicky said: "We were so proud to welcome over 500 attendees this year. None of this could have been achieved without the support of Sandown Airport for allowing us to hold our event there free of charge, the local businesses and community groups who attended the event and our extremely hardworking volunteers who supported in ensuring the day was well organised. Thank you to everyone involved."
